Measure what your keyboard mod changed.

Clack Lab is a mechanical keyboard sound analyzer for enthusiasts who want to measure, compare, and improve their builds. Record a repeatable typing test with your iPhone microphone, then compare thock, clack, resonance, decay, and consistency before and after mods.

Acoustic profile

Repeatable comparison, not a magic microphone score.

Clack Lab measures frequency balance, decay, level, clarity, consistency, and keystroke character. Results are most useful when the room, phone position, keyboard position, surface, and key sequence stay identical.

Workflow

Built for before-and-after testing.

Check a foam, tape, switch, lubricant, keycap, or case change using the same capture protocol each time.

Analyze on-device

Capture deliberate keystrokes and inspect the waveform, frequency spectrum, decay, clarity, consistency, and experimental character score.

Save each build

Store keyboard and switch names, notes, metrics, and spectrum data locally on your iPhone.

Compare and export

Clack Lab Pro compares two sessions side by side and exports a shareable result card or CSV file through the standard iOS share sheet.

Test protocol

Keep the setup identical.

  • Use the same iPhone, room, desk surface, and keyboard position.
  • Place the bottom microphone about 20 cm from the keyboard.
  • Use the same deliberate key sequence and similar typing force.
  • Compare sessions; do not treat an isolated score as a lab measurement.

Privacy

Audio stays on your iPhone.

Clack Lab has no accounts, advertising, analytics, or tracking. Audio analysis happens in memory on-device. Saved results remain local unless you explicitly export them.
